Obama will attend shuttle Endeavour launch

22 April 2011

US President Barack Obama plans to attend the April 29 launch of the space shuttle Endeavour from Florida’s Kennedy Space Center, a White House official said.

The launch is heavily symbolic because it is the second-to-last mission for the US space shuttle programme, and also because a wounded lawmaker is expected to be there to watch her astronaut-husband command the shuttle into space.
