Bad weather forced NASA to abandon the launch of space shuttle Discovery early Tuesday morning.Unexpected thunderstorms surrounded the launch site and lightning struck nearby."The vehicle and the operations were cooperating, but the local weather unfortunately did not," launch director Pete Nickolenko told Discovery’s seven crewmembers."When the weather is ready to cooperate, we’ll be ready to go," said commander Rick Sturckow.NASA said it would make a second attempt to launch the shuttle at 1:10 a.m.
